A MUGA enclosure has to do more than mark a boundary. It keeps several different sports inside the surface, returns the ball on the runs used in play, gives spectators a view in, controls who can get onto the pitch and survives daily use by large groups of children or adults. Those demands pull in different directions, which is why a MUGA is normally built from more than one fence specification rather than a single panel type all the way round.
The usual arrangement is a rigid rebound section to playing height on the sides in play, mesh continuing above it, and taller ball-stop runs at the ends where the ball travels highest. That gives a surface that plays properly without carrying rebound-grade construction on runs where no ball ever lands, and it keeps sightlines open above the rebound line for supervision and spectators.
Access needs deciding early because it affects how the facility is run. A single controlled pedestrian gate suits a school wanting supervised use; a community MUGA opened outside school hours often needs a lockable gate arrangement and sometimes separate entry points. Maintenance also matters: if a mower or a surface-cleaning machine has to get in, that opening has to be planned rather than improvised later.
Surface, drainage and levels are part of the conversation too. Post foundations have to sit clear of the surfacing build-up and drainage runs, and on sloping sites the fence line is stepped in a way that leaves no gap at the base. Getting those details agreed with the surfacing contractor before installation avoids the compromises that show up in the finished enclosure.

At least one controlled pedestrian gate, and normally a wider opening if maintenance machinery has to get onto the surface. Facilities shared with community users out of school hours often need a second entry point or a lockable arrangement so access can be managed separately.
Often, yes. Damaged panels, bent posts and worn gate ironmongery can usually be replaced section by section, which is far cheaper than a new enclosure. Where posts and foundations are sound, we will say so rather than recommending a full replacement.
